Hi! I am Lena and I am passionate about guiding people to become empowered and inspired to take the lead in their life and reconnect with feeling alive, radiant, joyful and whole.

I am an Energy Psychology Practitioner and Soma Breath Instructor. Although I had tried many different breathing modalities in the past, I never stuck with any of them until I encountered Soma Breath.

The combination of visualization, beautiful music, and scientifically based ancient breathing techniques such as rhythmic breathing and gentle breath holds, enabled me to dissolve my anxiety, transform feelings of burn-out, accelerate my emotional healing, tap into my creativity, and feel alive again.

Thanks to Soma Breath, I have changed my relationship to life by becoming a more centred, grounded, healthy human being in love with life.

1Why is doing Breathwork so important for our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health?
2Who can do Soma Breath and what are the contraindications?
Anyone who can breathe can do Soma Breath. However, if you have any of the below health conditions please stick to the rhythmical breathing phase (listening to your body) and avoid the breath hold in and breath hold out phases:

• Acute somatic and viral diseases.

• Pregnancy.

• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD-II and COPD-III).

• Chronic diseases with symptoms of decompensation or terminal illness.

• Individual intolerance of oxygen insufficiency.

• Cancer, unless IHT is prescribed by a doctor.

• People with epilepsy, pacemakers or heart arrhythmias, unless treatment (including IHT) is under direct medical supervision.

3How is Soma Breath different from other breathwork modalities?
Soma is a complete ancient holistic system of breathwork techniques. There is no one size fits all, and Soma takes into account everyone is different and requires different breathing techniques depending on their needs. Soma Therapeutic Breathwork techniques are the core pranayama techniques that have the most scientific evidence to support their function.

Modern counter parts such as Rebirthing, Holotropic Breathwork and Transformational Breath focus on one method that hyperventilates the body. These should be done with caution as oxygen creates oxidative stress in the body and are not for regular use because of this reason.

Soma Breath is something that can be practiced more regularly and can only lead to positive health and psychological benefits.
4What are the benefits of Soma Breath?
A multisensory meditation experience that can awaken dormant parts of your brain, improve circulation and fitness, promote healing, channel life force energy and help to manifest your intentions and take your meditation practice to the next level.

5How do I contract the Pelvic Floor muscles or perineum?
The pelvic floor muscles are those muscles you would squeeze if you were trying to hold your urge to urinate after a big cup of coffee while stuck in traffic.
6Is it normal to struggle with the breath hold out?
At the beginning it is difficult for most as the amygdala or survival center in our brain gets activated. But with practice, we deactivate this survival center and learn to relax and feel safe. Moving out of survival mode will enable us to shift into creation mode, bringing joy, freedom and peace to our life. Technically speaking, if you feel that the sip of air you take in the breath hold out is not sufficient, please ensure that the sip is not passive but strong & short, in & out.
7What if I struggle with the rhythmical breathing phase of Soma Breath?
If you are new to Soma you might find it challenging to follow certain rhythms and that’s perfectly normal because we have forgotten how to breathe correctly in life. When you practice Soma Breath, your daily breathing will become more efficient and correct, which in turn will make the Soma sessions easier. What is essential when doing the rhythmical breathing is to make sure there is no pause between exhalation/inhalation and that the rhythm is smooth & consistent.
8What is the monthly Soma Breath membership?
